Marriage licenses in Columbus are issued by the Muscogee County Probate Court from 8:30AM to 4:00PM Monday through Friday. To get a marriage license, both parties must fulfill the following requirements:
- Both parties must be present to apply.
- Both parties must be over 18 years old (or 16 years old with parental consent).
- Both parties must have proper, valid identification (Driver's License, U.S. Passport, or Birth Certificate and Photo ID).
- If either party has been previously married, bring a copy of the Final Divorce Decree or Death Certificate if spouse is deceased. (If you were divorced in Muscogee County, you can obtain copies of your divorce documents on the 2nd floor of the Government Center in the Superior Court Clerk's office.)
